When I started ChelsB Creative Design in 2017, I expected to work with Discover Miramichi as my main client and I would try to find a client or two to help out in between. Eighteen months later, I've worked with nearly two dozen entrepreneurs and leapt from working three jobs to working solely on my business (oh, and starting a new business too!).
In the past eighteen months, I've grown and I feel that it's time for my brand to grow with me. When I started ChelsB Creative Design, I expected to be an independent consultant, but, now as I consider growing my company even further, I want a more distinguished brand that represents not just what I do but who I am and where I come from.
So, bear with me over the next week as I work towards launching the re-brand of my business, reel-fly creative.
No matter how far away I go, the Miramichi river will always be home, but half of the companies in Miramichi and their dogs' instagram accounts use the word river, and I wanted something to stand out. The river has been providing for us for time immemorial, and that was something I wanted to incorporate into my new name. I wanted something that would highlight the extensive work that I have done in tourism marketing over the past few years, and Miramichi is known as a premiere fishing destination.
Finally, I just love a good pun, and with the word reel, there is not shortage of cringe-worthy stingers available.
Building the Brand
Anytime I am exploring a new place. I'm constantly inspired, often stopping to capture photos of things like doorways or lanterns, which would lead to inspiring this rebrand.
The colour of sunshine, the colour that brings cheer and most importantly colour of beer; yellow has been my favourite colour for as long as I can remember. I used that as a base when starting ChelsB Creative, but I wasn't crazy about the colours I had paired with it. So, of course the original yellow had to come into my new branding, now named "Patio Beer Yellow"
I also paired it with a pop of teal blue, a colour that always stands out to me as I wander through city streets.
Finally the red, which I've aptly named "ram-shackle" red, is reflective of the weathered buildings that have withstood both time and the salty-winds of the East Coast, holding within them thousands of stories.
I am excited to join Miramichi's community of vibrant young entrepreneurs, and can't wait to reel-y grow here (*insert cringe*). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support. If you have any questions you can contact me by email: email@example.com
